Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: NY-DT-24
Station Name: Red Hook 1.2 NNE
Report Date: 9/27/2021
Submitted: 9/27/2021 8:50 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
Near Normal –The soil is workable, on the slightly moist side. 1.71" of rain the past week. Wide range in rain Thurs night over 3 stations in 2-mile line to west. Mine, center is NYS Mesonet at 1.57, and third CoCoRaHS at 1.90

Solar production at lower levels this month as was the last 2 months. All the wind before Thursday storm dried ground out so no dew before storm and lots after. Leaves on many Red Maples in the area have dried on outside of tree as if hit by frost, but inside leaves unchanged. Colors are fading to a dull green in some trees and others have lost their leaves entirely due to disease and insect infestation. Vegetable/small grain field work continues to progress. Lawn requires mowing at least once a week or more often. Soil remains moist, plants and shrubs remain lush. Flocks of geese gathering in local fields. Other small wildlife around. Water table remains high. Water in fire retention pond up but to top of pipe. Mill Pond up.

NYC Reservoirs remain above normal at 94.6% of capacity vs. 77.3% normal. Consumption level normal for season. Too bad we cannot send the excess water out west!
