Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: IL-KN-121
Station Name: Geneva 1.3 NW
Report Date: 9/27/2021
Submitted: 9/27/2021 7:25 AM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
At my location, I have recorded only .81" of rain through the month of September. The little amount of rain that has fallen on each occurrence has not been able to percolate deep into the soils. In recent days, cautions have been posted due to high winds and low humidity to curtail burning. Neighborhood lawns are parched, and trees show some evidence of stress if not irrigated. The Fox River at Geneva, Illinois is low with emerging sandbars in the river bottom. Where water is slow flowing or stagnant, algae and other debris are forming a layer of scum where it usually is absent. Aquatic life continues to be impacted where small shallow ponds have been dry for sometime.
