Conditions seem normal for this time of year. There is still plenty of moisture in the ground from the winter/spring rains and recent sunny weather has supercharged the growth of grasses and other plants. We're in the midst of doing the first rounds of mowing and weedwhacking around the property. New fronds can be seen unfurling on the various species of local ferns. Young leaves and racemes have appeared on the nearby maple trees. Trilliums and fairy-slippers are blooming abundantly.
