Warm spring temperatures and sunshine this past week have resulted in a quick disappearance of the snow cover, with open areas clear of snow, and only small traces remaining in a few piles and shaded areas in the bush. There has been minimal runoff, and ditches are dry. Lake ice is solid, but small ponds are beginning to open up. There has been no significant precipitation over the last 12 days. As the ground thaws, significant rain is needed to make up for the winter deficit.
