January had about double the normal precipitation at my location.  However, practically all was in the form of rain as storms predominantly passed to our north.  The weather for January was more like late November all month.  Winter barely made an appearance.  There was very little snowfall.  Tug Hollow pond has a thin skin of ice and has had no more than that the entire month.  Local pond ice is usually several inches thick in a normal month of January . Tug Hollow waterfall is gushing and the ground is soft and damp and remains unfrozen.
